Bastille Day.......what's a "vaca" without some fireworks and several thousand Frenchmen?

Did I say it was Bastille Day?
Our merry band of travelers met with Julie and made our way down to the river to witness a French version of the Fourth of July. Our little group positioned ourselves on the bridge and comensed "oohing and ahhhing". I was clicking away with my cameras, when I felt someone staring at me. The gent next to me asked me if I was American? "Well, yes," I replied. He kept looking at me and I was just a little flattered! (I was thinking, heh, the old gal must still have it).....
Then he asked me a second question......"Don't you have fireworks in the United States?" Wah.....Wahhhhhh!

Our walk down to the river for fireworks!
Arles was an interesting city. Many famous Van Gogh paintings came to life as we toured the city. The local guide was excellent and also pointed out clothing traditions of the area. The Roman ruins served as venues for plays and concerts.
